When you are granted access to OYC, you will be sent a welcome email describing how to install and set up the Avigilon Open Alta app on your mobile phone. You will also be sent your credentials for the app in a separate email, which you must be able to open on your mobile phone, so be sure to provide OYC an email address that you can receive on your phone. The app credentials will be tied to the firmware on your phone, so they can only be used on one device at a time. To install and set up the Avigilon Open Alta app: Make sure your device meets the minimum requirements to install the app. Download the Alta Open mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Open the app, enter your email and tap Next (choose to use email, not a password). You will be prompted to open your email app. You will receive an autmated email from Avigilon Alta. Please open the email on the same device where you installed the Alta Open mobile app, it will not work otherwise. In the email, tap Set up on phone. In the app, accept the Terms of use to continue. After you click the link, the app will set up your user account and log you in and the app will guide you through a few configuration steps. Once set up, the app will show you the entries you have access to. If you have issues with the email, please see the Alta Open mobile app setup link not working or not received help page. Once the app is set up and is opened on your phone, you should be able to see your Badge Screen and by clicking the VIEW ALL link near the bottom see the entries list. You will not be able to open any entries until your start date, which is usually the day after you are voted in by the Board of Trustees.

Hooray for new technology! Unfortunately, your mobile credential is tied to your old phone, but switching it over to your new device is super easy. What to do when you get a new phone: If your carrier copied the app from your old phone to your new one, Delete the Avigilon Alta Open App from your new phone. Re-install the Avigilon Alta Open App. Open the app, enter your email address associated with your Avigilon Alta Open account, and tap Next. You’ll receive a setup email from Avigilon Alta Open; open that email on your phone and tap SET UP PHONE. Make sure the app permissions are set correctly, and you should be good to go! When you open the app and log in for the first time, the app will guide you through a setup procedure to set the permissions on your phone. To make sure they're set correctly, click the 3 horizontal bars (hamburger) at top left of the Badge Screen then Settings > App Permissions. All permissions should have blue check marks next to them. If you have trouble with opening locks, always re-check your permission settings to make sure they stayed set correctly.
