The Security Committee of OYC, chaired by Bruce Snyder, invites all adult OYC members to a kick-off program on Thursday, November 4, at 6:00 pm in the Clubhouse – pizza, beer and soft drinks provided – to learn about how you can participate in (and earn CSP hours for) “Facility Walks” to create a stronger security presence at our Mainstation.  The committee is seeking volunteers to sign up for particular dates and times over the course of the year and hope to cover as much time as possible, particularly when we do not have a regularly scheduled caretaker or maintenance staff to do this work.  Shifts will be a minimum of one hour and a maximum of four, to be conducted by two volunteers, with vests and flashlights provided.  Signing up for shifts will be done on the website and will be previewed at the kick-off event.

Due to COVID restrictions, attendance will be limited to 70 people, so registration is required.  While understandable, please do not sign up if you only want the pizza and/or beer; this is a serious effort to improve the security of OYC.  There is no cost to attend this event.  Please sign up at www.theolympiayachtclub.com, members area, “Events and Registration.”
